Why Ghana cards and MoMo fail on 1688
1688 is built for buyers who can pay in RMB on China rails: Alipay, WeChat Pay, and related mainland methods. A Ghana-issued card is often declined or never offered. MTN MoMo is a Ghana Cedis wallet. It does not appear as a 1688 checkout method, and typing a MoMo number into a seller chat does not pay the order on 1688.
Importers then look for a Ghana path to RMB. This desk is one path: GHS to Accra, CNY to the seller’s QR. It is not a 1688 checkout plugin, not Alibaba escrow, and not a guarantee that 1688 will release goods. Marketplace rules stay with 1688.
If the seller cannot receive WeChat Pay, Alipay, or NIP, this desk cannot type their Chinese bank account into payout. Ask them for a QR that can accept the amount, or use a bank CIPS / B2B collection product that is built for account-to-account RMB — a different job, described honestly below, without invented fees.
Sample orders and bulk POs use the same Accra sequence. A larger RMB amount still needs a QR that can receive it. Split GHS across extra personal MoMo numbers is not how this desk works. One order, one official Ghana account, one destination QR.
You talk to the 1688 seller; Accra does not negotiate the goods. If the shop insists on in-platform Alipay escrow only and will not share a receive QR, this desk cannot complete their 1688 checkout for you. That is a marketplace constraint, not a hidden Ghana MoMo button.
Collect the seller QR before you pay GHS
Message the 1688 shop for a current WeChat Pay, Alipay, or NIP code that can receive the RMB amount on your PO. A storefront screenshot is not enough. A code that cannot accept the payout will stall fulfillment even if your GHS later arrives.
Confirm the QR is fresh. Shops rotate wallets. You may replace an order QR until GHS is matched or confirmed — old receiving QR. After that, the destination is locked for that buy.
Save that QR first on the Accra order. The official Ghana MoMo or bank account stays hidden until it is stored. That is the same QR-first gate as every other buy on this desk.

Proof, receipt, and what 1688 will not see
Your MoMo SMS or bank receipt is for Accra to match GHS. The seller in China does not need that Ghana SMS. They need yuan on their QR and, when status supports it, a shareable record.
The English and Chinese transaction pass can go to the supplier once GHS is confirmed or RMB is sent. It is not evidence that tapping notify finished the buy, and it is not a 1688 tax invoice.
1688 may still want its own in-platform payment. Paying a seller’s QR off-platform is a commercial choice between you and the shop. This desk only reports that it sent CNY to the QR on the order after GHS confirm.
If goods are not released, that dispute sits with the seller and 1688. Accra’s job was GHS matched and CNY sent to the saved QR. Keep the bilingual pass and the order ID for your own records. Do not send a second GHS payment because the shop has not shipped.
Pay the 1688 seller from Ghana
